Doesn't he have the cutest little feet ever? I have a feeling I'm going to be running after my little grandson in no time at all..
Happy Christmas Eve... and we have our grandson here just in time to help Celebrate Christmas. What a great gift.

It's a good thing when..

I remembered to get more of my favorite chunky peanut butter. I used up the last of it on my 1 slice of bread before heading out to the gym. I'd be pretty disappointed if I couldn't eat another slice without peanut butter!
It was extremely difficult running on the treadmill this morning. I walked and talked to another gym friend for 20 minutes before even starting to run. I had to share baby Evan photos and of course she was excited to hear all the baby news and see Even's photo. I do love sharing baby photos..isn't that what Nana's do best?

I ended up running maybe 20 minutes at 6.0mph.. then talking to another gym friend for 15 minutes.. Everyone needs to see baby pix.. again way more important then working out.

I'm guessing I only ran/walked 3 miles today.. maybe for 45 minutes. I just had to go do something and I know my gym friends were all waiting to hear the baby news. Because that is the most exciting part of our life.

I'll have to fit in my 50 squats with 8pounds each hand of dumb bells.. 2 minutes of planks and a minute of superman..

Off to frost a cake, take care of pups and decorate for the baby's home coming today!

I'm officially....

I officially became a grandmother on Thursday, December 19th at 8:15pm. I was so excited to finally meet Evan. He is a big boy at 10 pounds  3 oz. Super cute chubby baby boy!
(I'll post a photo when the parents give the okay)

Aunt Celina and Uncle Logan.. I think they kind of like their new titles. We were all pretty excited to see baby Evan. I have a feeling these two are going to be really great at being an aunt and uncle.
I'm going to be called Nana.. after my favorite grandparent. It just sounds better to me then Grandma. Maybe I'll add Nana-Rain.. ?? Guess we will just have to wait and see what little Evan calls me. All I want to do is to be able to hold that little guy. He is doing so much better today and keeps getting stronger every day.

This (grandma) Nana-rain started out this morning running 5.5 miles on the treadmill. Saturday is my running day. Hard as it was to stay focused and run for the entire hour... The first 10 minutes I was busy sharing photos of baby Evan with a gym friend, who is also a grandmother of 5.. the more important things like my grandson come before my running. I'm more excited about Evan then Christmas. It's kind of hard to focus on any thing at the moment. Just thinking back to when I had each of my three kids. Such a different experience being the mother of a grown up daughter, that had her first baby.. Almost makes me wish I was starting all over again. I just hope my daughter stays in the moment as much as possible.. those little ones grow up so fast... and before you know it.. they are all grown up and you just wish you could go back to when they were so small and needed you.. Life has come full circle.. I'm excited for the next chapter of being a grandparent and all the joy it is going to bring.

Surround yourself with beautiful things..

I was listening to the radio yesterday and they had a discussion on what to do in the coming year.. I kind of liked their idea of surrounding ourselves with beautiful things.. .The radio women each received a pretty tea cup to drink from every morning instead of a Styrofoam cup. It doesn't have to be filled with tea, you could use it to eat veggies or drink/eat whatever you choose. It symbolizes the choices we have every day. We can choose to surround ourselves with pretty things.. or in my case I'm saying beautiful..

Naughty or Nice Running Quiz

the running bug(a blog I read) had a runners Naughty or Nice Quiz...
Turns out I'm pretty nice, for a runner!
I have determined that I don't like getting up early to go workout. I'd rather lay in bed all nice and warm.. sleeping for an extra 2 hours. I just don't do that on the week days. Weekends yes, but not when I don't have the time to go workout later on. It's always best to stick with a schedule and get working out done right away. No excuses and nothing to prevent me from going.. only myself, which is Not an option.

The first few steps my legs always hurt and feel heavy. I must have saved up some energy because I was running a 9 minute mile.. for 6 miles up hills and with crazy 12 resistance. Now that's a workout!

Remember me saying I needed to make squats harder? I did that this morning. I added holding 8 pound weights in each hand. I felt the burn.. arms and legs, but a good burn! I'll continue with the weights until it feel easy and then will add in more weights.

Off to nap for 30 minutes.. I'm exhausted from my day.
